GENERAL INFORMATION
Peritoneal cavity encloses the intestinal tract
Formed by Viseral layer covering the organs and a Parietal layer which lines the outer walls
Mesothelium body cavities are line by a single layer of flat cells – the mesothlelium mesothelial cells
Cavity normally separarted by a thin layer of fluid about 1 – 12 ml
